BILLS OF MATERIAL SPECIALIST

7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday

IMT is seeking applicants for a Bills of Materials Specialist role, for our sheet metal fabrication company.  The ideal candidate will be computer savvy and with a keen eye for detail.  Manufacturing knowledge is preferred.  The ability to read simple blueprints is required. 

You will collaborate directly with Engineering, Purchasing, Scheduling, and Customer Service.   Some work may be performed in the production area.

Positive attitude is a must!  This is a multiple task, deadline-based environment with a requirement for speed and accuracy, strong analytical skills, and attention to detail, therefore flexibility is necessary to maintain multiple projects as well as re-evaluate and change priorities quickly and efficiently.

Duties

• Review and interpret customer provided drawings and notes to create Bills of Materials in ERP system for all customer parts.
• Create new database Inventory Items for raw materials and purchased parts.
• Maintain database Inventory Items to reflect change in item revision, usage, obsolescence, etc.
• Work with Engineering and Purchasing teams when BOM changes or revisions occur.
• Review existing BOMs to identify discrepancies, missing parts, or invalid configurations and implement needed corrections.
• Review database to streamline and simplify – removing duplicates.
• Standardize components and materials wherever possible to optimize efficiency and reduce costs

Required

• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to manage multiple orders and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience creating BOMs or performing material takeoffs from engineering drawings.
• Ability to understand and create simple and complex multi level Bills of Materials for sheet metal fabricated parts and assemblies.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong math skills and basic geometry
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of product lines, features, materials, and revision levels.
