Production Support

1st shift 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Mon – Fri

This position is responsible for creating bills of materials and work packets, to successfully and profitably manufacture sheet metal fabricated parts, including sheet metal enclosures, shelving, powder coating, assemblies, and special projects.  This is a multiple task, deadline based environment with a requirement for speed and accuracy, therefore flexibility is necessary to maintain multiple projects as well as re-evaluate and change priorities quickly and efficiently.   The ideal candidate will have experience in the metal fabrication industry.  This is an in person position.

Responsibilities:

Evaluate customers’ drawings, samples, specifications, notes and RFQ’s.

Determine raw materials type and quantity required for production.

Price materials - using internal records when available, and sourcing/contacting new & existing vendors and sub-contractors.

Create Bills of Materials in database.

Interact with clients’ buyers and engineers via email and phone to clarify material requirements.

Retrieve drawing files from internal server, Email, or clients’ ftp site.

Data entry of customer orders, creation of digital records for new materials and customer parts.

Creating production packets for manufacturing including drawings, material requirements, and work instructions.

 

Requirements:

Understanding of manufacturing fundamentals, and geometric dimensioning & tolerances.

At least one year experience working with bills of materials, or estimating, or programming, for sheet metal fabrication or machining, or similar manufacturing process.

Ability to use Microsoft Windows including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Strong math skills, including addition, subtraction, division, multiplication, fractions, decimals. 

Ability to use calipers, tape measures, other measuring tools.

Strong written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to communicate with customers, vendors and co-workers in a professional capacity.

Ability to read/interpret drawings including the ability to view and understand drawings and 3D models in Solid Works.

Willingness to perform tasks outside core responsibilities when necessary.
