Mechanical Engineer

Full Time- 

1st shift 7a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Experience Required

We are currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer at our sheet metal manufacturing facility.

This position reports directly to our Vice President of Engineering, and will also work closely with customers’ engineers and designers, our machine operators, and production supervisors.

The ideal candidate should show willingness to learn how to program our sheet metal machines: Turret Punches, Lasers, Panel Benders, Press Brakes, and other equipment as needed. Candidate should be willing to learn all aspects of our sheet metal fabrication processes. This will ensure the ability to modify existing designs for better efficiency, create designs that take advantage of our strengths, and collaborate with our customers to help them create designs which will be more efficient for our fabrication processes.

Requirements

• Excellent math skills, including advanced geometry.
• Skilled in CAD and other mechanical design software.
• Creative thinking and innovation.
• Advanced problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
• Great interpersonal skills and teamwork abilities.
• Effective verbal and written communication.
• Ability to work under pressure.

Tasks required include:

• Programming CNC machines for production of sheet metal parts;
• Analyzing problems that may or do arise during the manufacturing process and recommending solutions;
• Frequent communication with customers;
• Representing the company with professionalism in the face of pressure and conflicting priorities;
• Manage drawing and product change control.
