Material Handling 

MATERIAL HANDLING 

Hours - Monday - Friday 7:00 am to 3:30 pm with some overtime required

Tasks include but not limited to:

• Interact with delivery drivers.
• Unload deliveries from box trucks, LTL deliveries, Van deliveries, using forklift, pallet jack, or by hand.
• Compare packing slip to purchase order and verify that contents are correct and not damaged.
• Notify management of discrepancies.
• Place stock in correct location and document receipt.
• Move raw material and parts in process at the direction of supervisor and machine operators.
• Package products for return to vendors.

Duties/Skills required:

• Forklift experience REQUIRED
• Inventory management – locating & noting location of products on plant floor.
• Understand shipping documents (packing slip, bill of lading)
• Ability to read calipers, ruler, and tape measure.
• Basic Math skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
• Ability to understand and convert decimals and fractions.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to effectively communicate with co workers, delivery drivers.
• Excellent attendance, dependability and maturity.
• Must be able to work daily or weekend overtime when deadlines require.
• Must possess a strong sense of urgency.
• Must be able to work independently.
• Physical requirements: Must be able to reach, bend; lift, push, pull up to 75 lbs. Periods of standing, walking, sitting required. NOT a temperature controlled environment – plant is not air conditioned and becomes very hot in the spring, summer and fall.
