high-quality finishes
- Operate and monitor curing ovens, adjusting time and temperature settings to meet powder manufacturer specifications for adhesion and durability
- Perform routine water sampling and testing to monitor pH, conductivity, and overall water quality used in the pre-treatment wash stage – including
recording data and adjust accordingly to maintain proper quality control
- Prepare and load sheet metal parts onto overhead conveyor systems, ensuring proper spacing, grounding, and secure hanging to avoid coating
defects
- Select and verify appropriate powder types based on customer specifications; ability to interpret basic blueprints is helpful
- Conduct detailed inspections of coated parts using visual checks and dry film thickness gauges to identify defects such as uneven coverage, bubbling,
or undercure
- Maintain accurate production and quality records, including part counts, colors used, water test logs, and equipment maintenance
- Perform preventive maintenance on powder coating equipment, spray guns, and curing ovens
- Troubleshoot minor issues with coating systems to reduce downtime and maintain workflow
