Innovated Machine & Tool Co., Inc., is looking for an expert Metal finishing technician.  The Grind operator will grind, sand, debur, or otherwise prepare custom sheet metal fabricated parts and enclosures for powder coating (painting).  Experience preparing metal products for painting or powder coating is required. Hours are 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, with overtime available. $15.00 to $18.00 per hour.

A successful candidate will have:

Knowledge of sheetmetal finishing techniques;

Understanding of different sanding & grinding media and their proper use;

Experience using hand tools and power tools including but not limited to sander, grinder, belt sander;

Experience with various types of metals (steel, stainless steel, aluminum);

Experience finishing thin or light gauge sheet metal in preparation for painting or powder coating;

Ability to follow verbal and written instructions;

Experience training others;

Safety conscious behavior.

Job duties include:

Lift and position workpieces, manually, onto tables.

Use electric or air operated grinder to polish, remove weld marks, and/or remove paint.  

Identify correct type and grit of sanding or grinding media.

Transport goods using carts, pallet jacks or by hand, between work station and paint department.

Must be able to lift 50-75 lbs, reach, bend, pull, and push.  Must be able to use hand held electric or pneumatic grinder/sander at waist level, and up to eye level, as product may be on table, or freestanding. Position requires standing on feet for entire shift.

Keep work area clean and observe all safety rules; wear proper safety equipment.

Work efficiently in a fast paced environment.

Follow verbal and written instruction.

Other general labor duties as required.
